It was the 90's.
My Origin Story
My parents were taken aback when I was born; I didn’t look like either of them. While my mother gritted her teeth through the confusion (understandably tired), my father blurted out,

“She looks like my grandma.”

By his grandma, he meant Mary Moy, a woman of the hills of Donegal, Ireland, who raised five children in a three-room house without plumbing or electricity, and who had been dead for four years.

Growing up, my childhood at private, all-girls schools was strict. The red shoes of my school uniform were always perfectly polished. For years, I internalized endless rules and shame from London society and Vogue magazine clippings. I wasn’t enough just as I was.

I left London for The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, landed my first job in tech, and looked better on paper. But I was miserable.
So...
After a very traumatic incident and taking a bunch of psychedelic mushrooms deep in the woods in Upstate New York, I found the courage to quit my corporate tech life.

I moved to Mexico City to pursue my dream of becoming an author. Writing honestly about my sex life helped me process my shame. Now my mission is to help the world be shamelessly sexy.

I’ve published my novel, These Perfectly Careless Things and built my blog, Misseducated. I also launched The Intimacy Journal, a guided erotic poetry journal, which was funded on Kickstarter in 12 days.

No topic is off limits. I hope my honesty helps you let go of shame, embrace the messy beauty of being human, and love yourself and your partner(s) fully.

Hi, I'm Tash!

My Favorite...

Activities

Writing, speaking Mexican Spanish (Es chingon, güey!), and visiting house museums (Luís Barragán makes me drool)

Food

Korean Fried Chicken

Museum in London

The V&A

Place in London

Westminster Abbey

Genre to read

Memoir. I’ve got a kink for high-stakes, political stories about Russia like “Patriot” by Alexei Navalny and “Red Notice” by Bill Browder.

Mexican Spanish word

“Socios,” meaning “associates,” but it has that juicy, cultural undertone in Latin America, where relationships are king. You trust your socios with your money, business affairs, and maybe even your life.

Holiday Destination

Mountains, lakes and forests, ideally with no internet access. I hate the beach and humidity!

Poem in The Intimacy Journal

You can find it in the "Complexity" chapter. I won't tell you which one that is!

These days, you can find me wandering around Condesa in Mexico City. I'm often looking up, trying to spot a hummingbird (my favorite animal) in the treetops!

Other Important, Useless Facts

  • If I weren’t a professional author, I’d be a professional jigsaw-puzzler. I am extremely good at them.
  • I remain unbeaten at the game Set.
  • My obscure celebrity crush is Roman Protasevich, the Belarusian activist. He has curly blonde hair, and nothing turns me on quite like risking your life to stand up to dictators like Putin and Lukashenko. Danger is hot!
  • The bougiest thing about me is that I love Valle de Bravo, the Mexican version of The Hamptons.
  • My birthday is January 3rd, arguably the coldest, darkest, and shittiest day of the year in London. The only cool thing is that Florence Pugh is my birthday twin! Yay, Capricorns 🐐
