The Expressive Writing Workshop
A guided writing workshop that helps women in business reconnect with their authentic voice, clarify their vision, and lead from a place of self-knowledge.

The women on your team have been editing themselves for years.
Women in leadership often grow up learning to perform. Be palatable. Shrink their ideas. Prioritize everyone else's needs above their own. Over time, they lose touch with what they actually want: from their careers, their businesses, and their lives.

So they burn out, they disconnect, and they make decisions made from obligation rather than clarity.

The Expressive Writing Workshop gives women the rare space to reconnect with their honest selves — through the act of putting pen to paper. It's not therapy. It's not journaling. It's a structured, research-backed practice that helps participants access the clarity and conviction they need to lead authentically.

What to Expect
This is a 60–90 minute guided experience. Here's how it works:

Guided Meditation
We begin with a short meditation, stepping out of our inboxes and into ourselves.

Poetry Reading as a Gateway
Each session opens with a poem by a historical woman poet, giving participants permission to be honest in a way most professional settings don't allow.

Structured Writing Prompts
Participants write in response to prompts drawn from the poem, designed to surface real experiences, patterns, and insights.

Sharing Circle with Safety Guidelines Participants are invited (never required) to share their writing aloud, followed by positive-only feedback and clear guidelines to create psychological safety.

Closing Reflection
We end by asking: What is one thing you identified in this workshop that you're taking with you?
Workshop Themes
Every workshop is fully customized, but here are popular tracks for corporate audiences:

Authentic Leadership Reconnect with the experiences that shaped you as a leader. Identify the values, boundaries, and convictions that define your leadership style in your own words.

Career Clarity & Evolution Write about both the brightest and darkest moments of your career so far. Decide which bright spots to scale, what boundaries to set, and define the next steps of your career evolution grounded in self-knowledge.

Brand & Business Alignment For founders and entrepreneurs: realign your business and brand with your authentic self. Write about the experiences that tested you most, identify patterns and key learnings, and integrate them into your brand and business today.

Team Connection & Belonging Build trust and authentic connection within teams. Participants write and share on a guided theme, creating the kind of bond that off-sites and happy hours rarely achieve.

All workshops are available as standalone sessions, multi-week series (pod format), or as part of a larger retreat or conference. Available in-person, virtual, or hybrid. Bilingual facilitation (English/Spanish) available.
For organizations that invest in women

The Expressive Writing Workshop is the perfect fit for organizations that want to invest in bold leadership and build authentic connections. This includes:

  • Women's ERGs and affinity groups
  • Professional women's communities and membership networks (e.g., Chief)
  • HR and People teams
  • Offsites, retreats, and conferences
  • Accelerators, incubators, and founder communities

Each workshop is fully customized to your audience, your event, and your goals, from the theme selected to the prompts designed to the tone of facilitation.
